Safety for man, property and environment is the common concern of the people, especially of the oil companies, tanker owners and terminal operators over the world.

To maintain safety in all oil and gas exploration and production activities, PVN declared Ship Vetting, Offshore Vessel Vetting and Terminal Audit Policy and assigned PVMR to these tasks.

Ship Vetting is applied to all tankers coming to PVN terminals for cargo operation, including crude oil carriers, oil product tankers, chemical tankers, gas carriers, and tanker barges.

Offshore Vessel Vetting (OV Vetting) is applied to all offshore vessels (supply vessels, heavy-lift vessel, FSO/FPSO, Jack-up…) serving oil and gas exploration and production activities of PVN both in Vietnam and oversea.

Terminal Audit focuses on assessment of jetty technical condition, ship/shore interface, coordination between terminal and other relating organizations ( pilot, tugboats, port authorities) and the safety management system of the terminals.

Ship Vetting, OV Vetting and Terminal Audit are carried out on the basis of guidelines of international standards set out by OCIMF and the Vietnam standards, taking into consideration of actual conditions of Vietnamese tanker fleet, OV fleet and oil terminals.

PVMR inspector team consists of local and foreign senior mariners, ship managers capable to carry out vetting inspection  professionally at any place over the world.
